Ingredients:
500 gr raw kadayif noodles
150 gr mozzarella cheese
100 gr melted butter
For Syrup:
600 gr sugar
1L hot water
5 ml lemon juice
For Oiling the Oven Tray:
15 gr butter
For Garnishing:
30 gr butter
To prepare the syrup; put the hot water in a deep pot. Add sugar and boil it for 25 minutes until the sugar is melted (by continuously mixing). Then, add the lemon juice and take it from the stove. Let it cool. Mix the kadayif noodles with melted butter in a bowl. Butter an oven tray. Place the first layer in the tray by using half of the mixture. Press on first layer with a smaller tray so that everything sets well. Then shred some unsalted cheese like mozzarella on first layer and cover it with resf of the mixture. Then press again. Cut the butter into small pieces and place on second layer. Bake the kunefe for 45 minutes in pre-heated oven upto 190 degrees until it is golden. Pour the room temperature syrup over the dessert when it is still hot. Garnish with pistachio or walnut as you prefer and serve immediately.
