INGREDIENTS
500 gr kadayif noodles
150 gr unsalted feta cheese
100 gr melted butter
For syrup:
510 gr powdered sugar
1 L hot water
2 ml of lemon juice
To lubricate the tray:
10 gr butter
For garnish:
10 gr butter
To prepare the syrup of the dessert;pour hot water to a deep pot. Add powdered sugar and boil it for 25 minutes over medium heat with mixing with a mixer until the powdered sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice to the syrup, and then left it for it to get cool. Blend kadayif noodles in a deep mixing bowl by mixing with melted butter. Lubricate the base of the baking tray with butter. Take half of the kadayif noodles you blended with melted butter to the base of the tray and spread it by hand. Use a smaller baking tray to prevent it from smudging and being pressed while cutting it. Cut unsalted white cheese into thin pieces and place in the middle layer of kadayif. Spread the remaining kadayif on the cheeses and press on it. Cut butter into small pieces and place them on the kadayif and bake the kadayif for about 45 minutes in a pre-heated 190 degree oven until it goes golden brown. Distribute the warm syrup over the kadayif you have taken from the oven with a scoop. Wait for kunefe to absorb its sherbet and serve with slices.
