Ingredients:
500 gr unsalted cheese
4 eggs
140 gr flour
160 gr semolina
1 pack baking powder
For Syrup:
700 gr sugar
900 ml water
To prepare the syrup; mix the water and sugar, then boil for 20 minutes. Cut the cheese into small pieces, mix with the semolina and knead them. Add flour, baking powder and keep kneading. Cover a part of kitchen counter with flour and knead the dough on the flour for 5 more minutes. Take pieces as big as a walnut and roll them between your palms. Cover an oven tray with an oven paper and place the dessert balls on it. Bake for 40 minutes in a pre-heated oven up to 180 degrees. Take the syrup from stove. Dip the dessert balls into syrup when the balls are still hot. (If you prefer softer balls, you can make some holes on the balls with a toothpick and let them stay in the syrup a bit longer.) For better absorption, close the lid on syrup pot. After half an hour, garnish the balls with with fine coconut if you prfer and serve warm.
Bon Appetite!
