SUNTAT, New Name, Proved Quality!

Statement for the reports of the BAKTAT group of companies, the BAK Kardesler GmbH and the associated corporate brands :

In recent days, several media reports appeared by giving the impression that the BAK Kardesler GmbH, the BAKTAT group of companies and their assets had been legally transferred to heirs. That is not true.

It is true that the heirs of our beloved brother Muharrem Baklan, whom we lost in 1992, filed several lawsuits against the BAKTAT group of companies since 2013. On August 4, 2017, the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe decided that the rights to use the “BAK” and “BAKTAT” names for the German market should be transferred to the heirs. These represent only a small part of the large family of BAK Kardesler GmbH. In addition, the company retains the rights to the “BAK” and “BAKTAT” brands in more than 50 other country where products are sold under both names. This applies, for example, to Turkey and to the entire European market outside Germany. With regard to the decision of the Higher Regional Court of Karlsruhe, BAK Kardesler GmbH reserves the right to take further legal action.

Although the marks “BAK” and “BAKTAT” were already registered in 1992, they have not yet been launched on the market. The reputation of the products of both brands goes back to the tireless work and investment of the brothers of the late Muharrem Baklan. They have established the brands, they have originally registered and created their affiliates and developed the companies the way them now. In the opinion of our company, the brand value of “BAKTAT” and “BAK” was generated only by the brothers of Muharrem Baklan . The strong family ties of the Baklan brothers and the generation of their children and grandchildren remain intact. As a family and business community, we want to make it very clear: We have not adopted a brand, we have created a brand.

There will be no changes in the production of our internationally certified products and services and cooperation with partner companies. Everything is going to stay the same for our suppliers, dealers and customers.
